Secretary's report (Rosemary Jenkins): 
    approved as read on-line

Treasurer's Report (in absence of John Anderson): 
    same as last month minus $36 for reimbursement of LACDP fee to Rosemary Jenkins plus $10 membership
    from Lane Sherman

Old Business:

    VR (Kristin Ingram-Worthman):  emphasis up the 210 freeway
        JoAnn and Ted Nagy and Kristin I-W  worked the VR
        last weekend registered 6 Dems (incl 3 absentees);
        good location:  Vons at Foothill and Sunland
       
    October 24, 2009; 10 a.m.-12 noon and noon-2 p.m. for VR
        let's find grocery store in Sylmar area for next time
           

    Hispanic/African-American Outreach (Minerva Williams-Hoover): 
        will blast the people on Rosalind Scarbrough's list

        Bruce Hector is working with the above constituents with regard to healthcare needs; he is going to
               churches to allay fears about health issues
       
        Walking/talking for Water Board/School Board
            supporting Christy Smith and Mike Cruz

    Make a Difference Day:  no report

    Clean Money:  Fair Elections Act in State of California on June 2010 ballot for a pilot program for Secretary
          of State  position

    Robin Gilbert
of Clean Money, Alliance for Democrats, Healthcare for All

        wants a joint meeting with DAA, DN38, North Valley Dems, SCV Dems
              to discuss the clean money issue; she want a planning session with  her after November election
              with the club leaders to train speakers to educate groups about clean money
        DN38 needs to organize meet-and-greets on this non-partisan issue

    Call for Saturday and GOTV for Water and School Boards

New Business:

    Harrison Katz
is running for City Council in Santa Clarita; he needs to help us with Water Board and School
              Board if we are to help him

               he is contacting San Fernando Vally Young Dems for assistance and thinks he can register 1000
               College of the Canyons students to vote, some of whom would work in his campaign

Announcements:

    Dorri Raskin:  tell Boeing, NASA, Department of Energy to clean up site in  Santa Susana; write letters,
              e-mails, faxes to DTSC (she provided form  letters for us to sign/send/etc.)

    Buy Blue tomorrow night:  at DAA to support "Democratic" businesses

    Grandmothers for Peace at 3-4 p.m. on October 3 at McBean/Valencia Blvds

    Lillie Ledbetter Event: October  11 (DP/SFV at CSUN)

    Minority Outreach Event:  October 17
